AndreyD. Poyarkov was born in October the 14th 1953. He graduated in Zoology at MoscowStateUniversity in 1976. Higher education 1971-1976, Biological faculty Moscow State University, Diploma B-1 №327564, specialty Zoology and comparative anatomy .
Ph.D dissertation certificate KD № 059214, 3 March 1992. Since 1992 he is Ph.D. graduated in Zoology, dissertation theme was “Social organization of stray dogs”. He has more than forty -years field research experience in different regions of former USSR (Belarusian, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Russian Far East, Tuva, Altai and Sayan mounting Chita region, and Chukotka, Kamchatka, many region of European part of Russia) Mongolia and China, where he has worked as specialist in population structure, social organization and behavioral ecology of Canids and large cats. In 1998-2000 he was coordinator of WWF Program for study and conservation of Snow Leopard in Russia. Since 2007 he begin study genetics structure of dogs and related canids, with Chinese colleagues. A. Poyarkov is author of more than 40 scientific articles and materials. He is senior research of Laboratory of mammal behavior and behavioral ecology in Severtzov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of RAS.He is and member of Theriological Society RAS, the Canid Specialist Group, SSC/IUCN (1990-2010). He is scientific Secretary of the section expert of the State Commission on Rare species of mammals (Red Date Book commission).
